Resurrecting a 90s ThinkPad
+

Found an old ThinkPad 600X on FB marketplace for $10... couldn't resist. Spent the entire weekend bringing this tank back to life. Those old IBM keyboards are just something else.

Got it running a lightweight Linux distro now. Boot time is like 45 seconds which honestly isn't even that bad? The battery lasts about 20 minutes lol... but there's something really satisfying about using hardware from this era.

Laptops just don't have character anymore. Also, this old beast lets you swap literally every hardware component with basically just a screwdriver (future proof).

The Only Crypto With True Utility
+

I have been thinking a lot abt about the future of crypto lately. Most of the scene is just...nonsense. But Monero has always been different.

I got in around $28 back in 2017... not because of any get rich quick BS but because the tech actually made sense to me. I could see the utilty in it. Over the years I've seen the adoption increase massively, it's now flipped Bitcoin as the primary currency on DNM's. It's the only project that delivers on what crypto is supposed to be about: privacy, fungibility, and being censorship resistant. I think Satoshi (Hal Finney) would be cheesed with the direction Bitcoin is going in

Most people don't realize that Bitcoin isn't actually private or decentralized at all... your entire transaction history is visible to anyone who cares to look. This is why Monero is the only "true" crypto.
